On July 17, 2010, xlivvieheartex reported a case of possible plagiarism in the BtVS/Ats fandom. orbofthesuah wrote Five By Five, which shares similarities with queen_mecha’s fic, The Devil’s Number. Screen caps can be found in the original report, here.

I stumbled across this "author" early this morning and was surprised to see that the first paragraph of one of his stories is the exact wording of the first paragraph of one of my stories.  This was on fanfiction.net

This case was brought to our attention on the 30th of January, by birgitmShe had been alerted that the youtube user cryshlr had taken one of her fan videos and placed it up on his profile after having edited off the credits. It was then discovered that he tad taken another video, in the same fandom - farscape, and edited out the original vidders ( Read more... )
